UEFA Super Cup 2012 was the 37th UEFA Super Cup, an annual football match organized by UEFA and contested by the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. The 2012 UEFA Super Cup took place at the Stade Louis II in Monaco on 31 August 2012, featuring England’s Chelsea, the 2011–12 UEFA Champions League winners, and Spain’s Atlético Madrid, the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League champions. This was the final Super Cup to be held at the Stade Louis II, which had been the venue since 1998, as future matches would be hosted at various locations, beginning with the 2013 edition in Prague’s Eden Arena.
Atlético Madrid secured a 4–1 victory, earning their second UEFA Super Cup title. Radamel Falcao scored a hat-trick in the first half, with Miranda adding a fourth goal in the 60th minute. Chelsea’s Gary Cahill scored a consolation goal in the 75th minute.
