Serie A 2021–22 was the 90th season featuring a round-robin tournament format and the 12th season organized under the Lega Serie A committee. Inter Milan entered as the defending champions. Serie A 2021–22  season also known as Serie A TIM due to sponsorship, marked the 120th edition of top-tier Italian football.
On 22 May 2022, AC Milan secured the championship after defeating Sassuolo in their final match, clinching their first title since the 2010–11 season and their nineteenth overall.

Twenty teams participated in the league, comprising the top seventeen teams from the previous season and three teams promoted from Serie B.
Crotone and Benevento, both relegated after one season in the top flight, along with Parma, relegated after three seasons, dropped to Serie B for the 2021–22 season.
On 4 May 2021, Empoli secured promotion to Serie A after a two-year absence. Six days later, Salernitana confirmed their return to the top flight after 22 years. The final promotion spot went to Venezia, who defeated Cittadella on 27 May in the promotion play-off final, marking their return to Serie A after nineteen years.
