The 2023–24 La Liga also known as LALIGA EA SPORTS due to sponsorship reasons, is the 93rd season of La Liga, Spain’s premier football competition. It commenced on 11 August 2023 and ended on 26 May 2024. Barcelona were the defending champions, having won their 27th title the previous season.
On 4 May 2024, Real Madrid were officially confirmed as champions with four matches to spare following Barcelona’s 4–2 defeat to Girona, securing a record-extending 36th title.

Promotion and Relegation (pre-season)
A total of twenty teams contest the league, including seventeen sides from the 2022–23 season and three promoted from the 2022–23 Segunda División. This includes the two top teams from the Segunda División, and the winners of the promotion play-offs.

Teams relegated to Segunda División
The first team to be relegated from La Liga were Elche, after a 2–1 loss to Almería on 2 May 2023, ending their three-year stay in the top tier. The second team to be relegated was Espanyol, after a 2–2 draw against Valencia on 28 May 2023, ending their two-year stay in top tier. The third and final team relegated to Segunda was Valladolid, after a 0–0 draw against Getafe on 4 June 2023, ending their one year stay in top tier.

Teams promoted from Segunda División
The first two teams to earn promotion from Segunda División were Granada and Las Palmas, who were first and second respectively. Granada returned to La Liga after a one-year absence, while Las Palmas came back after a five-year absence. The third and final team to be promoted were Alavés, after winning the play-off final against Levante on 17 June 2023, returning after a onе-year absence.
