EPL Season 2024-25 marked the 33rd season since the league’s inception and the 126th season of top-flight English football overall. Manchester City began the campaign as four-time defending champions but were ultimately dethroned by Liverpool, who secured the Premier League title with four matches to spare. This triumph marked Liverpool’s second Premier League title and brought them level with Manchester United’s historic record of 20 English league titles. The season’s fixtures were unveiled on 18 June 2024, featuring 33 weekend matchdays, four midweek rounds, and one Bank Holiday matchweek. Notably, the winter break, which had been part of the schedule since 2019–20, was scrapped in favour of a longer summer break. Additionally, the league adjusted the festive schedule to provide longer rest periods between games, and no fixtures were played on Christmas Eve.

The 2024–25 Premier League season featured several notable developments beyond the action on the pitch. The summer transfer window officially opened on 14 June 2024 and closed at 23:00 BST on 30 August 2024, while the winter transfer window ran from 1 January to 3 February 2025, closing at 23:00 GMT. This season also marked the final use of Nike as the official match ball supplier for the Premier League, with Puma set to take over the role beginning in the 2025–26 season.
A significant technological advancement was the introduction of semi-automated offside technology. Although originally slated for implementation shortly after one of the autumn international breaks, its debut was postponed to allow for additional testing. The system was first trialed during the FA Cup from the fifth round onward, leading to its confirmed Premier League debut on matchweek 32, which took place on 12 April 2025. The Etihad Stadium had the distinction of being the first venue to host a Premier League match using the new technology, during Manchester City’s fixture against Crystal Palace.
