DFB-Pokal 2011-12 was the 69th season of the annual German football cup competition. It began on July 29, 2011, with the first of six rounds and concluded with the final on May 12, 2012, at Berlin’s Olympiastadion. Since both finalists secured spots in the UEFA Champions League, the Bundesliga’s fifth-placed team earned a place in the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League group stage. Defending champions Schalke 04 were eliminated in the round of 16 by Borussia Mönchengladbach.
