Sevilla responded in the 41st minute with an equalizer from Franco Vázquez, who scored with a low left-footed shot from just inside the penalty area.
Sevilla then took the lead in the 72nd minute when they were awarded a penalty after Sergio Ramos was deemed to have fouled Vitolo inside the box. Yevhen Konoplyanka converted the penalty with a low shot to his left, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
As the match entered stoppage time, Real Madrid equalized in dramatic fashion. In the 93rd minute, Sergio Ramos, known for his clutch goals, scored with a free header from two yards out after a cross from Lucas Vázquez on the right side.

Sergio Ramos thought he had scored the winning goal with a low header, but it was ruled out for a foul on Sevilla defender Adil Rami.
