UEFA Super Cup 2014 was the 39th edition of this annual football event, organized by UEFA and featuring the reigning champions of Europe’s two major club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. The match took place between two Spanish clubs, Real Madrid and Sevilla, who had won the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League and the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League, respectively. It was held at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on 12 August 2014. Unlike previous years, the match date was shifted from late August to mid-August, following the removal of the August international friendly date from the new FIFA International Match Calendar.
Real Madrid won 2–0 to win their second UEFA Super Cup, with both goals by Cristiano Ronaldo.
