UEFA Conference League 2024–25 is the fourth edition of UEFA’s third-tier club competition and the first to be played under a revamped format. The tournament now features a 36-team league phase, replacing the previous group stage structure. This change increases the number of matches in the main competition (excluding qualifiers) from 141 to 153.
Starting this season, the competition is officially known as the UEFA Conference League, dropping the “Europa” from its previous title. Additionally, teams can no longer drop into the Conference League from the Europa League league or knockout phases. As a result, the reigning champions—Olympiacos, winners of the 2023–24 edition—cannot defend their title if they have qualified for a higher-tier competition.
The final is scheduled to be held at Wrocław Stadium in Wrocław, Poland. The tournament winner will earn automatic qualification for the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League league phase, unless they secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League via their domestic league. If that happens, the access list for UEFA competitions will be adjusted accordingly.

Knockout phase
In the knockout phase of the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League, ties are played over two legs—home and away—except for the final, which is a single match at a neutral venue. The bracket is partially predetermined using seeding, with teams’ placements based on their final positions in the league phase.
There is no country protection, meaning teams from the same national association can be drawn against one another at any stage. Additionally, it is possible for teams to face opponents they already played against in the league phase.
The mechanism of the draws for each round was as follows:
- In the knockout phase play-off draw of the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League, the eight teams that finished the league phase in positions 9–16 were designated as seeded, while those in positions 17–24 were unseeded. The draw was organized into four sections, aligned with the predetermined bracket structure. Each seeded team within a section was paired with one of two possible unseeded opponents, and the seeded teams hosted the second leg of their respective ties.
- In the round of 16 draw for the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League, the top eight teams from the league phase (positions 1–8) were seeded, while the eight winners of the knockout phase play-offs were unseeded. As with the previous round, the draw was divided into four sections based on the predetermined bracket. Each seeded team within a section was drawn against one of two possible unseeded opponents, with the seeded teams hosting the second leg of the tie.
- In the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League, the match pairings were predetermined according to the tournament bracket. A draw was held only to decide which team would host the first leg of each tie. For the final, which takes place at a neutral venue, the winner of semi-final 1 will be designated as the “home” team for administrative purposes.
