DFB-Pokal 2017-18

DFB-Pokal 2017-18 was the 75th season of the annual German football cup competition. The 2017–18 DFB-Pokal featured 64 teams, including clubs from the previous Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga seasons. The tournament kicked off on 11 August 2017 and wrapped up on 19 May 2018 with the final at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, the designated neutral venue since 1985. Known as Germany’s second-most prestigious club title after the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal is organized by the German Football Association (DFB).
Defending champions Borussia Dortmund, who had previously defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2–1 in the final, were eliminated in the round of 16 by Bayern Munich, who hold the record for the most Pokal wins. In a dramatic turn, Eintracht Frankfurt went on to claim their fifth title by defeating Bayern 3–1 in the final. This victory earned Frankfurt automatic qualification for the group stage of the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League. Additionally, they hosted the 2018 DFL-Supercup against Bayern Munich, the 2017–18 Bundesliga champions, at the start of the following season.
