Coupe de France 2011–12 was the 95th edition of France’s premier national cup competition, organized by the French Football Federation (FFF). It was open to all French clubs, including those from the overseas territories such as Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Mayotte, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and Réunion.
The final was held on 28 April 2012 at the Stade de France. Lille, the defending champions, had won the previous season’s final 1–0 against Paris Saint-Germain. In this edition, Lyon emerged as champions by defeating third-tier side Quevilly 1–0, thanks to a first-half goal from Lisandro López. This victory marked Lyon’s fifth Coupe de France title and their first domestic trophy since 2008. Despite their loss, Quevilly, along with fellow third-tier club Gazélec Ajaccio, received the Petit Poucet Plaque, awarded to the best-performing non-professional clubs in the competition. Lyon’s triumph also secured them a place in the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League group stage.
