Club World Cup 2010 was the 7th edition of FIFA Club World Cup and was hosted by the United Arab Emirates. Defending champions Barcelona did not qualify for the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup, having been eliminated in the semi-finals of the 2009–10 UEFA Champions League by eventual winners Inter Milan. In a historic moment, African representatives TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo defeated South America’s Internacional from Brazil in the semi-finals, becoming the first team from outside Europe or South America to reach the Club World Cup final. However, Mazembe fell short in the final, losing 3–0 to Inter Milan. This victory marked Inter’s third world title, adding to their previous wins in the Intercontinental Cup in 1964 and 1965.
